VIDEO on the next Post – “Warra”
After talking with Ned Winter we decided to add the Jondarayan Woolshed into our journey as it is only a detour of around 30kms. They have a caravan park at $25.50 per night and museum entry of $11.50 (Seniors) so we stayed for 2 nights. You really need this to walk around everything without rushing or getting tired out. The park is pleasant with modern amenities block but town water is only available at certain taps to fill your tanks, not reticulated to every site so we had to ferry water to wash clothes.
The restaurant was catering for a wedding on the Saturday (our first night) so we were entertained with music until midnight! (We were warned at the office!)
The museum is very interesting with many historical buildings from the district all re-established in a street type layout; there a lot of machinery items but the highlight of course is the Woolshed. Originally this was a 54 stand shed and is Tee shaped with the short central Tee the wool area.
Now stands and holding pens are left in only one half and the other end is part of the functions area (but still open to see the whole structure).
