February 26 – March 5, 2018
Having visited Thomas at the Gold Coast we had to return to Brisbane area for Frances’ last visits to the Dentist and instead of staying at the Ipswich Showgrounds yet again we decided to venture into the Lockyer Valley to somewhere we had not stayed before. We looked at the RV stop at Rosewood Showgrounds but it was quite wet from the recent rain so decided instead to go to Lowood.
This turned out to be a good choice with site fees at only $15/night or $90/week (7th night free). There is lots of room and good freshly mowed flat grass areas to set up on with an abundance of water taps and power boards. There are amenities in a corner of the hall with two disabled full bathrooms as well as an older toilet/shower block; all kept clean and tidy by the resident caretaker.
Lowood is a small town with all the necessary facilities and shopping, and some great take away food as well.
All Dentist appointments over we finally left Lowood on Monday March 5 for our delayed journey to the Murray River……..
