Headed off again towards Richmond and split the drive at the Marathon Rest Area, again shared with Road Trains but clean toilets and Picnic shelters.
We are finally well and truly in/on the open Plains with not a real tree in sight. The surprise here was to find a small group of Zebra Finches in residence and also to be visited in the morning by a huge flock of Corellas. This spot is about halfway from Townsville to Mt Isa. Weather also warming up with a bit of a current heatwave getting us over 35 in the late afternoon.
