Finally leaving our Covid lockdown we made it 130kms up the coast to the Council Campground at Mystery Bay, just a few km South of Narooma.

With a huge area, mostly in the trees, multiple drop or hybrid toilets and tanks of drinking water scattered throughout it’s great value in the Winter period at $19/night; Caravan Parks on the South Coast are rarely under $40/night which is why this place is popular even at this time of year.
We found a semi open area to ourselves about half way along the area. Immediately at the edge of the Campground is a whale watching spot on the small headland with Mystery Bay itself immediately to the South (main image).

The beach of Mystery Bay provides some rocky outcrops at both sides and to the South borders part of the Eurobodalla National Park. The sea can pound heavily into here and on this particular day there was a lone surfer trying for a good wave.
