Finally, after Keith’s medical issues sorted out we have left for the next 8 months, destination Darwin.
Leaving from the Pine Rivers Showgrounds we headed first for the property of Nat Lowndes at Mt Kilcoy. Having had a lengthy exchange of information on Facebook about Nat’s efforts to start up legal camping on the property we were invited to stay and have further discussions about the whole situation. The planned two days or so quickly turned into four and we could easily have stayed longer, it was a real pleasure to meet Nat together with Levi and Chilli and Nat’s partner Brad. Our campsite for the stay was alongside Kilcoy Creek at the Southern end of the property.
During our stay a large number of Crows were keeping some of the other birdlife away but his Kookaburra was regular visitor.
During our stay at Pine Rivers Keith took delivery of his new Mountain Bike, an Otto XT700Plus folding electric model, a little riding around the Showgrounds and the paddock here was a chance to find all the control functions before getting too adventurous!
