Pildappa Rock is one of many rock formations across the North of eh Eyre Peninsula and both one of the best known and easiest to access with onsite camping. Just 15km off the Eyre Highway via a wide graded gravel road the turn off is from the tiny town of Minnipa; around the halfway mark between Port Augusta and Ceduna.
There are two areas for camping, one as you drive in and the other close to the end of the one-way loop road; each has a drop toilet, BBQ Shelter and bins and are reasonably flat.
We took a walk around the perimeter which is about 1.3km around and on the morning before leaving climbed to the top where the view is an absolute 360 degrees of the surrounding broadacre farmland and the Gawler Ranges to the North.
