The final legs of our trip to Melbourne to board the Spirit of Tasmania were to visit our friends Mike and Ann in Elmore for a couple of nights which allowed us to make a quick visit to Bendigo for Frances to buy more wool and cotton for her Beanies and Sunhats. At Elmore we are able to park the van on a vacant block which belongs to Mike and Ann’s landlord just next door but one to their house.
Finally heading into Melbourne on Wednesday the 13th we had booked into the Crystal Brook Tourist Park at Warrandyte in the North Eastern suburbs. This park has had some poor reviews but we found nothing to complain about; sure it is an older park and the roadways are narrow but we have had worse. The amenities are old but kept in immaculate condition by the staff, as are the grounds. It is only $40/night full rate; $36 for G’Day Rewards members like us which makes it very good value for a Metropolitan area caravan park.
…and so on Saturday morning the one hour drive to Station Pier and Tasmania!
