The Kalbarri National Park is famous for both it’s two large cantilever viewing platforms known as the Skywalk 70m above the valley below (next image), and for”Nature’s Window”, a natural hole in a rock formation where you can sit and look out across the river far below (main image).

The tourist map here shows all the significant locations; for our first trip into the main park we went to the Z Bend Lookout and walked halfway down the River Trail where we got a great view of the gorge and sat under the overhang for a Muesli bar breakfast.

We then doubled back to the Skywalk and finally to Nature’s Window. The 4 Ways trail is closed for some time after flood damage from recent rains adn the Loop Trail is closed due to current high temperatures , over 35 most days this week out there.

On our second visit we went to Ross Graham lookout and River Walk first while the morning was still reasonable (as in only around 30 degrees), and then to Hawks Head
