Just 3km from the town centre is the King Jarrah Tree, a 47m high example of the species which is estimated at 500 years old. A 600m circular trail wanders around the reserve behind the tree and it also forms part of the local Parkrun course.

The history board reveals that this tree was first identified as something special in 1910:
