The Caravan Park here (across bridge to the right above) was our stop for the last two days which gave us the opportunity to drive up to Mount Beauty for lunch and take in the view fro the two lookouts on the way. On the way to here we got our first glimpse of snow on the Alps as we travelled down the valley.
As we got closer it became more visible and from the Caravan Park was clearly in view from Mount Bogong on the left round past Mount beauty and into the High Country around Falls Creek.
The Caravan Park here is on land owned by the Victorian Department of Environment and managed by a group of local volunteers. It has basic but clean facilities and several permanent vans with annexes obviously here for the Summer season as there is access to the Kiewa River just across the road with Fishing and Swimming on offer.
Views of the Upper Kiewa valley next…
