Spent 4 nights here at the Captain Cook Holiday Village which is about halfway between the two settlements. Agnes Water is really the “town” and has all the shops etc. and the surf beach. , 1770 has caravan parks, marine/reef cruises and the sheltered estuary beach.
Behind the Capt. Cook park is also a walking/4WD track (about 1km) to what really amounts to a private surf beach with a view of Agnes Water to the South. We had windy weather on the ocean side for most of our stay but on the 1770 side it was very pleasant, definitely shorts weather again.
